TRESemmé is a sure sign for a good commercial. This Unilever division has the slogan of Professional, Affordable. The real message in these commercials is Professional, Approachable. Every scene has a very delicate balance on making the hairstylist being a friend and on your side. The brand name is a phonetic translation of “well-loved” in French, (très-aimé) and originally was sold only in salons.
This well-loved, comfort feeling opens the brand up to a wider market. Unilever was a strong player in the global beauty and personal care in 2012. The company’s strategy of increasingly reaching towards higher pricing segments within its key portfolio while expanding in larger developed markets paid off well.
